The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi should represent Virat Kohli and play in the IPL for at least 20 years, according to the famous cricketer Virender Sehwag. The youngest cricketer scored 34 runs off 20 balls in his first game for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), smashing his opening ball for six off Shardul Thakur.
Like right-handed hitter Virat Kohli, Suryavanshi must be delicate, the former Indian cricket player said. The 14-year-old may feel content after playing in the IPL this season, according to Sehwag, a legendary opener in his own right. However, the cricketer from Delhi acknowledged that the young player should participate in the IPL for a longer period of time, just like the RCB batsman who played throughout the seasons.
“Suryavanshi should strive to play in the IPL for 20 years. Take a look at Virat Kohli, who began playing at the age of 19 and has now participated in all 18 seasons. He ought to be attempting to imitate it. Perhaps we won’t see him next year, though, if he is content with this IPL, believing that he is now a billionaire, had a fantastic start, and struck a six off the first ball,” Sehwag stated via Cricbuzz.
Sehwag suggests that Vaibhav Suryavanshi stay grounded.
In the IPL 2025 mega auction, the RR team paid Rs. 1.1 crore to get the youngest player in IPL history. The seasoned cricket player agreed that the young hitter should be grounded and not let fame or fortune control him.
“You will stay grounded if you go out knowing that you will receive praise for your efforts and criticism for your shortcomings. He continued, “I have witnessed a lot of players who come, gain notoriety after one or two games, and then do nothing because they believe they are now a star player.
