Usman Qadir announces international retirement

The decision of Pakistani cricketer Usman Qadir to retire from international cricket has just come to light. In a statement on social media, the cricket player confirmed the same and expressed his gratitude to Pakistan Cricket, coaches, teammates, and fans. The 31-year-old will keep playing for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL).

“As I look back on this amazing journey, I want to express my sincere gratitude. Today, I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket.” Being able to represent my country has been an incredible honour, and I am grateful for the help and encouragement I’ve received from my teammates and coaches throughout the journey. Qadir wrote in a message that was published on X, formerly Twitter, “Every moment has shaped my career and enriched my life, from unforgettable victories to the challenges we faced together.”

The spirit of Pakistani cricket is with me: Usman Qadir.

“I sincerely thank all of my devoted fans for their unfailing support; it has meant the world to me. I’m going to carry on my father’s legacy as I start this new chapter by valuing the teachings he gave me as well as my passion for cricket.
