The United States of America, which will share hosting duties for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, has given notice that they intend to contend with the competition on an even footing.
They think they can surprise some of the game’s traditional powerhouses, including Pakistan and India, with a lineup that includes American talent and overseas recruitment from significant nations.
The USA team consists of a mixture of foreign players who are lured to Major League Cricket, as well as immigrants from cricket-playing countries such as Pakistan and India, and other individuals who are attempting to establish a career for themselves in America. Leading figures include Indian under-19 player Harmeet Singh and former all-rounder Corey Anderson of New Zealand.
Singh started the conversation on how the USA is a formidable opponent after his team recently defeated Bangladesh in history.
We won’t be taken lightly. Our potential is enormous, in my opinion. Our team is full of players that can win games. We have the advantage because of it. Now we also bat. The youngsters have been training in a way that is entirely their own. We are really excited to play Bangladesh,” Harmeet stated, as cited by ESPNcricinfo.

The 31-year-old thinks that the players’ abilities and the team’s adaptability might hurt any opponent on any given day.
“Like Steven Taylor did, a lot of players can also bowl two to four overs. Both Milind and Nitish Kumar are capable of bowling a few overs. We also possess bench strength. We benefit from the team’s internal competition. Everybody wants to succeed, and that benefits the side, he continued.
The USA is also home to some of the best international recruits in the world, such as fast bowler Ali Khan, a Pakistani native who has competed for major international franchises in the IPL, CPL, and PSL.

Indian-born wicketkeeper/battler Monank Patel, their captain, has been a member of the USA team since 2019. With more than 6000 first-class runs between them, Indian all-rounder Milind Kumar and South African gloveman Andries Gous.
Among those cautioning the major teams not to undervalue the USA team’s ability in the forthcoming event is former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.
“I think the US might give tough time to Pakistan because they also have some expats from India and Pakistan playing for them,” he stated.
