Rivals by arch The new schedule calls for an earlier match between India and Pakistan.

Speaking about the Women’s Asia Cup itinerary for 2024, India Women were originally scheduled to play Pakistan Women on July 21. But the ACC has moved the game to July 19 instead, per the revised schedule. Interestingly, this will be the first time that eight teams will play in the main draw of the coveted tournament. There are currently just seven teams participating in the continental event.

Each of the two groups into which the Asian countries are split will send the top two teams to the July 26 semifinals. The championship game is scheduled on July 28. Nepal and the United Arab Emirates have also been included in the same group as Team India’s archrivals. Group B has teams like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia plotted.

In 2022, Bangladesh hosted the Women’s Asia Cup, which saw India Women win their seventh title after defeating Sri Lanka Women by eight wickets in the championship match. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the Asia Cup to be postponed for two years.
