Recently, Ashton Agar underwent minor calf surgery, which prevented him from playing in the next T20I series against South Africa. To prepare for the ODI World Cup, which will start on October 5 in Ahmedabad, the 29-year-old, who played his last professional match five months ago, is hopeful of making his comeback in the ODI series.

Ashton Agar said that his most recent setback is unfortunate because his body was feeling strong and he was in fantastic form during the preseason camp. He continued by saying that the spinner intends to play with 100% energy in the ODI series against the Proteas because his rehabilitation is doing nicely.

It was extremely regrettable. In the preseason, I was performing excellently, and my body felt great. I feel quite healthy. and regrettably suffered a small tear in that calf. But the rehabilitation has been excellent. In Western Australia, we have excellent physiotherapists on staff, and we have been collaborating closely with them every day. At the WACA, I’ve now completed a few full-intensity sessions. Therefore, I believe I’ll be capable of giving 100% effort during an ODI, Agar told ESPN cricinfo.

My favorite place to bowl is in India: Ashton Agar

Australia may use two spinners in certain matches in India because of the pitches’ propensity to help spinners. As a result, Agar is quite optimistic about making the playing XI and contributing significantly, especially given that he stated that India is a country where he genuinely adores playing cricket. The batsman, who was born in Melbourne, continued by saying that he had wonderful experiences while playing in India and was looking forward to going back for the major competition.

“World Cups showcase one-day cricket at its best, especially in India. You never know what kind of pitch you’ll hear. However, the likelihood is that you’ll be playing as a spinner, and there’s a probability that you’ll play two spinners in many of the games, especially if the pitches wear out.

“I enjoy visiting this location. I’ve had some excellent encounters. It goes without saying that the Test tour was challenging there. But after that, I had to play the one-day tournament again and did extremely well. I absolutely enjoy bowling there,” Ashton Agar stated.
