Umran Malik should relocate and play more domestic cricket, according to former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey. During IPL 2022, the pace sensation was the talk of the town after finishing as the fourth-leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 22 wickets in 14 matches. The young player’s future appeared bright as he was supposed to travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup alongside the Indian team, but that didn’t work out.
In the ensuing seasons, he was again unable to break into Sunrisers Hyderabad’s starting lineup. With the elite pacer now far off from international cricket, it simply made his journey more difficult. According to Mhambrey, Umran needs direction, and the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is not the best setting for him to grow. Mhambrey suggested that he change his state because his recent performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy (SMAT) and Ranji Trophy are equally troubling.
“I won’t say that I’m disappointed, but Umran Malik is one such person.” We must lead the way for him. He must represent a state with a well-established organisation.
Regretfully, he is representing a state without a legal framework. He will undoubtedly benefit from playing a lot of cricket and representing a state with a well-organized system. Mhambrey told Sportstar, “We need someone to make that call for him and make sure he plays for a state where he plays a lot of cricket.”
“He’s a quick bowler who can bowl in the mid-140s consistently, so he has potential,” the man continued. “But at this point, he needs someone to mentor him and tell him, Okay, fine, just play cricket and how do we take this, take his game forward.”

In ten ODIs and eight T20Is, Umran played for India and claimed 13 and 11 wickets, respectively. He will need to focus on his domestic season because the pacer is hoping for a strong bid in the IPL auction.
