ENG vs AUS 2024: Travis Head on illness affecting Australian camp

The Australia team faces a battle both on and off the pitch as the present ODI series between England and Australia approaches its fifth and final encounter. Travis Head, the opening batter, disclosed that multiple players in the Australian camp have been impacted by illness.

The tourists had won the first two matches in the five-match ODI series, but England pulled off a stunning comeback to tie the series with a 186-run victory at Lord’s in the fourth ODI. The series is currently set at 2-2. The last game will take place at Bristol’s County Ground on Sunday, September 29. Speaking following the fourth ODI, Head discussed the team’s challenging circumstances at the moment.

“Although I felt like I’m hitting the ball nicely and could do it for longer, it would have been nice to hit a few more.” It’s not been perfect because a few of the boys have been crooks. In a few days, I personally want to go out on a high note,” he stated, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Cameron Green will return home and resolve the issues: Travis Head

The southpaw is optimistic about the team’s prospects and his form in spite of the difficulties. Head hammered 34 runs off 23 balls in the Lord’s match. The visitors got off to a great start because to his partnership with Mitchell Marsh, but they finally lost the second game of the series after being demolished at 126 all out.

Due to back pain, all-round player Cameron Green will miss the rest of the tour and will be rested in order to avoid getting hurt again. Head discussed Green’s exit but expressed optimism for his teammate’s return.

“Greeny has left for home. As we were boarding the team bus, I learnt of it. Now that I have my phone back, I will contact him.

It will undoubtedly disappoint him, but he will go home and resolve the situation. It’s upsetting, but he’s been through this before, Cam, and he’ll know how to bounce back,” he continued.
