The Men in Blue will be fervently seeking retribution if the two cricketing titans square off in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final, according to Australian opener Travis Head, who recently spoke up on the intense rivalry between India and Australia.
Head thinks an India-Australia title match would be amazing following Australia’s wins over India in the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup finals last year. In recent years, the two countries have developed a fierce rivalry in a variety of sports. India has won three of the five games in their T20 World Cup head-to-head versus Australia.
According to Head, Australia’s recent ICC matches against India continue to enrage their supporters. He feels that the Men in Blue will arrive with the goal of exacting revenge if they both run into each other during the summit clash.
“That would be pleasant. Being in the final would be pleasant. That would be a huge hit in India, in my opinion, especially in light of the events of the previous two championships. Thus, India will undoubtedly seek retribution at some point. If it were true, there would be some great theatre surrounding it. “We’ll see what happens, and hopefully we’re in it together with you,” Head stated in a Times of India interview.

With match-winning hundreds in the ICC final losses, Head has caused the greatest harm to India’s team. Though coming off two successful IPL campaigns, he is cognizant of the threat the Men in Blue offer, especially with a star-studded squad that includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.
India is well-managed. You could probably list four or five teams that will be considered, in my opinion. It is essential for them to play an attacking style of cricket. Their chances are good with Rohit and Virat and their superb bowling, spearheaded by ace bowler Bumrah, who has also been excellent in the IPL. Their prospects are probably comparable to those of the other three or four teams that are still alive,” he continued.
In addition, he discussed Rohit Sharma’s leadership and whether or not he would face pressure heading into the 30-day competition.
“Rohit shouldn’t be too concerned, in my opinion. He has been not just a great player but also an amazing leader for a while now. Thus, in my opinion, there is no problem on that end of the matter, “Head said.

India’s first World Cup match is set for June 5 in New York, where they will take on Ireland after playing a warm-up match against Bangladesh. Conversely, on June 6 in Barbados, Australia will play their first league matchup versus Oman.
