'He came out and said it was little bit of misunderstanding' - Travis Head gives clarifies on sledging incident with Siraj

During the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) in Adelaide, world champion and star Australian batsman

talked about his on-field sledging incident with Mohammed Siraj. Throughout the entire game, the participants appear to declare a truce despite the constant turmoil. For those who are unaware, the incident occurred on Day 2 after Siraj angered the centurion by cleaning Travis Head with a scorching yorker.

A few words were spoken between the two in the heat of the moment. The Australians won the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, which was noteworthy since they not only dominated the game but also tied the current Test series.

The flamboyant middle-order batsman Travis Head, who produced an amazing century, was once again one of Australia’s greatest players.

Consequently, the dynamic southpaw’s outstanding innings earned him the title of player of the match. The visitors were still in the game at one point, with Australia just missing India’s 180-run total. However, the game was totally lost for the visitors after Head’s counterattacking knock placed tremendous pressure on the Indian bowlers.

“We’ve had a great week, so I think we’ll move on,” said the head-on sledging incident.

While the game did not have many dramatic situations, it did have some, particularly the on-field confrontation between Head and Mohammed Siraj. On Day 3, however, during India’s second innings, the two players conversed while on the pitch.

They appeared to have declared a truce, even though we were unable to hear all of the players’ conversations. Siraj and Head spoke with him as he walked out to bat, and Head confirmed that the disagreements had been settled after hearing these statements.

Use it sweetly. He simply stated that there was a slight miscommunication. I believe we will move on. Let us avoid letting it spoil the wonderful week we have enjoyed. ABC News cited Head’s statement.

Everything was alright. ‘Why did you swear?’ he questioned. “I kind of said, ‘Look, I didn’t at first… [but] I definitely swore at you the second time round,” Head stated in closing.
