Mumbai Indians

Ambati Rayudu, the former Indian cricketer and IPL champion for CSK and Mumbai Indians, recently participated in a podcast interview where he discussed his IPL and international career in detail and provided insight into a number of personal and professional facets.

When questioned about his best IPL moments, he stressed that being able to play in a variety of situations and at different batting positions was a major accomplishment for him and that he was highly adaptable.

“I would describe myself as highly adaptable in a group setting. In addition to batting in the middle order and lower middle order, I would bat open. Contributing to the team is something I’m really proud of, and I value that part of my work very much,” he stated in a YouTube podcast called The Ranveer Show.

He admitted that playing for the Mumbai Indians was truly unique when asked if he regretted leaving the team to join the Chennai Super Kings. Given that he played for Mumbai for eight years, won three IPL titles, and won two Champions League trophies, it was a difficult decision for him to go. He thanked Mumbai for the wonderful voyage they had on their reflections of their time together.

Naturally, I played for them for eight years. My IPL career began with Mumbai. We won two Champions League trophies and three IPLs along the incredible voyage. We had amazing times,” he remarked.

Speaking about his time at CSK, he said that although he enjoyed playing for Mumbai, he found CSK to be an even more wonderful place. Since Rayudu’s debut for CSK came against the Mumbai Indians exclusively, he claims that at first he felt a little strange playing for them. Playing against his old side and switching from blue to yellow pads seemed unusual to him at first. But over time, he adjusted to the CSK setting.

“It was quite strange to sit in another dressing room, put on yellow pads instead of blue, and face Mumbai, who was training two wickets away from me. Playing CSK was even more unique. I could feel a whole mental flashback, remembering all of the things we used to do on a daily basis. I did get acclimated to being in CSK after that,” he continued.

In response to a question on his international career, he expressed his disappointment with how it ended and the way the team management treated him. Rayudu claimed that because of his quiet and collected demeanor, the team management believed he lacked confidence.
