IND vs ENG Fifth T20I: Top 10 Memes from IND vs ENG, 5th T20I

India (IND) and England (ENG) faced off in the T20I series’ final match on Sunday, February 2, at Mumbai’s legendary Wankhede Stadium.

Following England’s disastrous decision to bowl first after winning the toss, Abhishek Sharma’s roaring century put India in control of the match. In addition to reaching the three-figure mark in 37 balls, Sharma became India’s second-fastest centurion in the game’s shortest format, after Rohit Sharma, who achieved it in 35 balls against Sri Lanka in 2017.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led team amassed a formidable 247/9 in their allotted 20 overs because to the useful efforts of Shivam Dube (30 off 13), Tilak Varma (24 off 15), and Sanju Samson (16 off 7), in addition to Abhishek’s 135 off 54 balls. In order for England to surpass the enormous total set by the Men in Blue, they knew they had to start playing well from ball one.

Playing his comeback series, Phil Salt took Mohammed Shami to the cleaners for 17 runs in the opening over. But Salt’s partner Ben Duckett was dismissed for a golden duck when the pacer hit on the first ball of his second over. India began to take wickets at regular intervals after that, with Jos Buttler (7 off 7), Harry Brook (2 off 4), and Liam Livingstone (9 off 5) leaving the pitch without making any noteworthy contributions.

Even though Salt kept attacking in the middle, he left following Shivam Dube’s slower wide delivery. Although Salt’s 55 off 23 did little to help England’s chase, India won the match because of the opposition’s lack of support, if it wasn’t already decided after the first innings. After scoring just 90 runs, the visiting team lost their eighth wicket, indicating that the Indian team’s victory was merely a formality.

It was a great job by India’s bowlers to stop the run flow and make consistent breakthroughs. Having taken three wickets, Shami was India’s best bowler overall. Moreover, Ravi Bishnoi claimed a single wicket, while Abhishek Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy, and Dube each claimed a few. The all-around performance helped India win the match by a huge 150 runs, which was their second-largest run total.

In order to highlight the humorous aspects of the exciting match between India and England, which the former won rather convincingly, the social media community was ablaze with amusing memes and videos on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) during the match. Abhishek was unquestionably named Player of the Match for his thunderous performance.

Meanwhile, here are top memes from the fifth India vs England T20I

Only Indian who would be upset seeing England not batting entire 20 overs and going back home early is Narayana Murthy.
