New Zealand became the first side to defeat India 3-0 at home when they won the third Test by 25 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. On Day 3, the hosts set a petty target of 147, but Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel caused havoc on the spinning Wankhede ground, which proved too much for Indian hitters. In the first innings, he took five wickets, and in the second innings, he picked six Indian batsmen to continue his assault.
Tom Latham, the captain of New Zealand, expressed his happiness after the game, saying that the historic series victory was not an easy one. It’s important to note that New Zealand scored the most runs against India at home since 2021 on two separate occasions, both of which were more than 100 runs.
“Very happy. From the beginning of the series to this point, the boys have performed admirably in the last three Test matches. We discussed it, and it was attempting to support it after each Test match. We are quite pleased to have done it here in Mumbai at last, on a totally different surface that undoubtedly tested us with bat and ball. Latham stated, “I wouldn’t say it’s been a one way of doing things, just being able to adapt to each ground.”

India had two days to reach the aim, despite New Zealand’s meagre 147-run target, but the team made mistakes.
