Tim Paine said this about Jonny Bairstow's poor catching in the first Ashes Test: "I think they have set an environment that gives them some security over time."

Tim Paine, a former Australian player, thinks that England won’t bench wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow in the second Ashes Test, which starts on June 28 at Lord’s. This is because Bairstow has been having trouble behind the stumps. In particular, the hosts beat England by two wickets in the first Test, which took place at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Bairstow got 78 runs in England’s first innings of the first Test, but he missed a few chances to be stumped or caught. He had trouble with the bat in the second inning, and he could only score 20 runs.

When asked if England would change its mind about using Bairstow as the keeper-batter in the second Test, Strauss said that it would. Paine said in response that England had made a place where they could help their team and give them some security over time. He also thinks that coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes won’t kick Bairstow off the team after just one bad Test match.

“I think they’ve created a place where they can trust their team and give them a sense of safety over time. Pain said on the ‘Whateley’ of SEN show that he didn’t think Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes would get rid of Jonny Bairstow after one bad Test match.

I believe that England will support Bairstow. Tim Paine

The former captain of the Australian Test team then said that England will support him because they know how dangerous he is. The 38-year-old also talked about how good the wicketkeeper-batsman was with the bat and how he had just come back from a long injury break.

“Obviously, he didn’t keep well. I think they’ll let him stay. They also know how dangerous he is with the bat, and that’s how they want to play cricket. He has also just come back from a pretty bad injury that kept him out of the game for a long time. “So they think he will get better,” Paine said.
