Tilak Varma discussed his experience sharing the dressing room with legendary players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on the sidelines of the current three-match ODI series between India and South Africa.
Tilak Varma is still getting used to the ODI format, despite having solidified his place in India’s T20I lineup. According to the southpaw, he prefers to play the longer formats. He added that playing with Rohit and Kohli makes him feel much more confident.
“I like the longer format, so ODI and Test cricket feel like my game. Playing more ODIs excites me greatly as well. The confidence level is entirely different when Virat bhai and Rohit bhai are on the same team, Varma stated on JioStar.
The left-handed batsman claimed that in order to get better, he tries to learn from Rohit and Kohli.
“They have so much experience and knowledge, and I try to take as much advice from them as possible to get better,” he said.
I talk to Virat bhai frequently, particularly with running between the wickets and fitness: Tilak Varma
Tilak Varma stated that he likes to talk to Kohli on running between the wickets and fitness. The Hyderabad batsman stated that sprinting swiftly between the wickets is what he will most look forward to if he has the chance to bat with the former India skipper.
“I talk to Virat bhai a lot, particularly with running between the wickets and fitness. He is really intense. I particularly enjoy the running portion of the game because I love running too and I think I’m very quick. I’m excited to gallop between the wickets with him if we play together,” Tilak Varma remarked.
Regarding his own objectives, Tilak Varma stated that he hopes to play in the longer forms and finish games for his side because he thinks these will help him develop as a player.
“I want to complete those matches whenever I have the chance to play South Africa. I also want to demonstrate my abilities in tests and ODIs. “I’m pushing myself to perform in the longer formats and develop as a player,” he said.
