On August 3, 2023, 20-year-old Indian cricketer Tilak Varma had an impressive debut for his country against the West Indies. The teenage batsman had incredible poise throughout his blistering performance, scoring 39 runs off just 22 balls and demonstrating his brilliant fielding with two outstanding catches.

India might have won if Tilak Varma had been able to add another 20 or more runs to his total. The failure of Samson also had a price. But there is no denying Varma’s promise,” Wasim Jaffer said.
