Three PSL draft selections who could play in the 2025 IPL

The Indian Premier League, which will be held from March 22 to May 25, will collide with the PSL 2025, which will take place from April 11 to May 18. This implies that many of the players that will compete in the 2025 Indian Premier League are unable to participate in the Pakistan Super League. Players who were selected in the PSL 2025 draft may be able to switch to the IPL 2025 due to player injuries and the selection of replacements by IPL franchises.

After being chosen as a replacement player for the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 Indian Premier League, Corbin Bosch decided to withdraw from his original plans to play for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League. There will likely be a few more players that can follow in their footsteps.

The three players listed below were selected in the PSL draft but are eligible to switch for the 2025 IPL:

1. Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell

In order to strengthen their batting lineup, the two-time champion Lahore Qalandars selected Daryl Mitchell as their first pick in the PSL 2025 player draft. Mitchell is anticipated to make his PSL debut this year after playing in 70 Twenty20 Internationals.

Daryl Mitchell was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 Indian Premier League, however his batting performance was lackluster, as he only managed to score 93 runs in four innings. As a result, he was not sold at the 2025 player auction. Mitchell, who is an excellent spin player, had a successful 2023 ODI World Cup in India, amassing 552 runs. If teams want a middle-order batsman who can also bowl a few medium-paced overs, he can switch to the IPL 2025.

2. David Warner

David Warner

The Karachi Kings signed David Warner for the 2025 PSL. In the first Supplementary Round, the 38-year-old former Australian hitter was selected. After an unimpressive start to the season, David Warner, the star opener for the Delhi Capitals in the previous edition, was benched for the second half of the season in favor of Fraser McGurk, a rookie player.

Warner can still contribute significantly to a team given his extensive experience, which includes 12,727 T20 runs in 392 T20 matches. He was the top scorer for Sydney Thunder in the BBL, helping his team go to the Final, and he led Dubai Capitals to an ILT20 championship victory this year. He would undoubtedly switch if any IPL team called him up as an injured replacement.

3. Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson

The Karachi Kings selected Kane Williamson in the PSL 2025 supplemental Round 1. He performed admirably for the Durban Super Giants in the SA20, scoring 233 runs at an average of 46 in eight games, and he looked fantastic in the just finished Champions Trophy.

Due to injuries, Kane Williamson has only been able to play in three IPL games with the Gujarat Giants in recent years, but he has a respectable overall IPL career record, with 2128 runs in 79 games. Kane Williamson can return to the IPL if a berth becomes available and offers a reliable middle-order option.
