This year's T20 World Cup will be won by South Africa if they advance past that semifinal: Brad Hogg
The 2024 T20 World Cup semi-finalists have been announced, and the first show will see South Africa taking on Afghanistan, who is currently ranked well.

Conversely, on June 27, India will play England in the second ICC tournament semi-final. Talking around the same, former Australia spinner Brad Hogg says that if South Africa make it to the summit showdown of the World Cup, they are going to claim their maiden ICC Trophy.

Former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg, who spoke exclusively during Star Sports Press Room, discussed South Africa’s chances of reaching the finals and taking home their first ICC title*, saying, “They are just spawning from here.” It is incredible. I have high admiration for Hendricks and think he’s a great player. Then you have to construct a wall; Klassen in particular can construct a great spin. I think he’s going to play Afghanistan pretty well and make it to the finals. We have a tremendously strong squad with fantastic spin from Shamsi and Maharaj, so I believe it will be South Africa.

“It is not my intention to focus on the major nations at this time. I believe they should play it out again and muster the courage to choose the winning team. I think South Africa will win the championship this year if they make it past that semifinal. All I can say is that I feel like I have the aggression and the team balanced. I possess that kindness. As the captain, I genuinely enjoy Markram. He is quite cool and accurate. Additionally, I believe that by maintaining composure and creating the ideal environment, our team will prevail.

Hogg also discussed the lacklustre performance of Australia versus Afghanistan.

In the T20 World Cup 2024, Afghanistan’s Super 8 triumph over the Kangaroos proved to be one of the main talking points. In order to reduce Australia’s prospects of advancing to the semifinals, Rashid Khan and his team put on an incredible effort.

“Australia took Afghanistan too lightly,” Brad Hogg stated when discussing the Australian team’s performance against Afghanistan and if Pat Cummins should have been named captain for the tournament. They were very impressive. Not that they were at their finest. On the pitch, they were dreadful. With the ball, they were dreadful. Finally, Afghanistan was the country that should have been there, not Australia. In terms of Mitchell Marsh, he’s essentially the team’s brother. Like Andrew Symonds, he is. He is incredibly amused.

“Generally speaking, he lights the load if there is any discord or argy-bargy in the camp. That’s him, bro. However, it’s also likely that Pat Cummins wasn’t guaranteed a spot in the World Cup starting lineup. Pat Cummins would have been the first to go if you were going to bench one of them for an additional spinner. And then all of a sudden Nathan Ellis is included as well. Nathan Ellis, who is among our top three T20 bowlers, doesn’t really have a chance in my opinion, despite being one of our better bowlers overall. This explains why Pat Cummins is in the T20 lineup and Mitchell Marsh is the captain.

In an interview, former Indian cricket player S. Sreesanth stated of the Afghanistan team and their performance: * “The cricket world adores Afghanistan.” Many thanks to BCCI as well for providing them with venues similar to a home team. And the level of support that the Afghanistan team receives is astounding. Regards to Rashid Khan as well. the manner he has been steering.

Almost like a fraternity. And it’s very lovely to watch him laugh out loud. They displayed those feelings while they were playing, as you could see. in particular the game they won today. It was just amazing. After the game, he talked about the win and thanked his country. and what it signifies from a life perspective as well as from the perspective of cricket.

“The source of motivation that many Afghans will return home with. It will be amazing, I promise. And everything in honour of Jonathan Trott. He’s a wonderful man. Excellent coach at this point. Never before have I seen him so animated. Trott’s yelling and screaming were visible to us. Seeing Trott in that role was excellent. These were being expertly carried out by Afghanistan. I consider it to be a win for them.

“I thought they weren’t prepared,” Hogg said while discussing what went wrong for Australia against India*. Mitchell Starc is concerned about this. It doesn’t alter his length fast enough if the ball isn’t swinging. Additionally, when Rohit Sharma was hammered for 29 runs there, he did not alter his length with him fast enough. Additionally, Rohit Sharma left the wicket for a little period of time. Then you noticed Mitchell Starc reversing course.

“And I’m not sure if he stated that Rohit is swinging without a swing or that he is striking against the wind. It was at that point that I felt Australia was in serious trouble. They were starting only to look at what was wrong rather than seeking for answers, thus they won’t be returning. Thus, that’s most likely where things went wrong. With a few overs remaining, Mitchell Marsh, the captain, made an easy catch after Hardik Pandya was dropped. And Hardik, I believe, scored 22 off the next ten balls. After recently purchasing your way back into the game, you simply cannot afford to drop Hardik Pandya. That was equally important.
