Last week, we were apparently the worst Test team ever; this week, we finished on day three: Travis Head

Australia lost the first Test match against India in Perth by a disgraceful 295 runs. After Josh Hazlewood allegedly chastised the hitting unit for being bundled for 104 runs in the first innings, many questions were raised, particularly regarding the department. After scoring 337 runs in the first inning of the second game, the home team made tremendous progress.

With 140 runs off 141 deliveries, Travis Head made the difference, and Marnus Labuschagne, who scored 64, provided good support. In the second innings, they bundled the visitors for 175 runs after securing a 157-run lead. The team captained by Pat Cummins made an incredible comeback, easily chasing 19 runs.

Following the game, Travis Head was named the Player of the Match.

After struggling in Test cricket earlier in the year, the flashy hitter opened up about his knock during the presentation ceremony, saying it was good to get into the groove. Head discussed this, saying that it helped him fight India since he spent hours analysing and talking to individuals about how to improve.

“Being in the runs and supporting the team is pleasant. The week was filled with a lot of conversation, so I returned to what I know best—hitting a tonne of cricket balls—while watching the video where I felt like I was falling short. This team has a highly consistent selection criteria and procedure. For me, it was about remaining loyal to who I am and how I became a player. I was able to find my footing in the innings after spending hours contemplating it and talking to many people,” Head remarked.

The cricket player also talked about his experience playing in Adelaide, which is also his home field. He recalled that everyone dismissed them after their last game due to their lacklustre performance, but they were still able to complete the second Test in three days.

It’s always enjoyable to play in Brisbane. It’s a 1-1 series. We were reportedly the poorest Test team ever when we lost the match last week. We concluded on the third day this week. The 30-year-old continued, “It’s good that the game is getting so much attention.”
