Ahead of their match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 8 at Mullanpur, Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh has revealed his tactics. Similar to the previous season, the event has seen high-scoring games, and the left-arm seamer discussed his strategy for limiting batters.
Arshdeep Singh confidently replied that he would try to attack the batters in response to a question concerning the Indian Premier League’s continuous pattern of high totals and how he intends to stop the run flow. He stressed that the main goal nowadays is to break partnerships and take wickets in order to stop the batting team’s momentum. The Punjab spinner went on to say that in order to successfully control the run flow, he and the squad will make plans based on the opposition and the conditions.
Because every batter is simply trying to hit boundaries in high-scoring games, as a bowler, your only concern is taking wickets. Therefore, our goal is to simply match their offensive strategy with our own, which could improve our chances of taking wickets and lowering the totals,” Arshdeep Singh told Star Sports.
Arshdeep Singh: Shreyas only wants his players to support their skill sets.
Arshdeep Singh also praised Shreyas Iyer, his captain, for letting his teammates be themselves and supporting them to the fullest.
“I have also participated in the Duleep Trophy with Shryeas. I like to play beneath him. He encourages his athletes to express themselves freely and provides them with a lot of support. I’ve seen that he doesn’t give any instructions, even here at Punjab Kings. All he wants is for his players to freely express themselves and support their skill sets. His motto is “play for the team, don’t be selfish,” which I find appealing. Therefore, we will make an effort to assist him as a player and enable him to win consecutive championships,” Arshdeep Singh stated.
With two victories and one defeat, the Punjab Kings are presently ranked fourth in the standings. After losing to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at home recently, they will be trying to recover. In the meantime, CSK, who have only won once in the current IPL season, will try to win twice to get back on track.
