Since women’s cricket players have never participated in player auctions, Devine thinks the WPL will significantly improve their game. The Women’s Premier League WPL, which is anticipated to begin in March 2023 following the conclusion of the Women’s T20 World Cup, would present a significant opportunity for the players, according to New Zealand captain Sophie Devine, who has voiced her delight about the prospect.

Three current teams—Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore—acquired a franchise in the competition.
