When he and fellow teammate Hardik Pandya went on the popular talk program Koffee with Karan in 2019, star Indian batter KL Rahul found himself embroiled in a great deal of controversy. Both players received significant media attention and criticism as a result of Pandya and Rahul’s remarks.
Due to their remarks, the BCCI even suspended them for a few games. Notably, Pandya and Rahul had to return from India’s visit of Australia in the middle of the game because they were suspended.
KL Rahul recently took centre stage to discuss the incident and how much it affected him. According to the Bengaluru native, the interview completely altered and even damaged him.
“I was rather skilled at trolling once. It used to seem like I didn’t care. I was a lot younger then. I encountered a great deal of trolling a few years ago. In a podcast with Nikhil Kamath on the latter’s YouTube channel, Rahul stated, “If I sat, I got trolled, If I stood, I got trolled.”
“It was another world, the interview.” That altered who I am. altered me entirely. Growing up, I was a really quiet person. I started playing for India and gained a lot of confidence. They’ll know that I’ve been in a room with one hundred individuals,” he continued.

Rahul further mentioned that although he had never been disciplined or suspended from school, receiving a side suspension had a negative impact on his mental health.
“At this point, I don’t since that interview with Karan on Koffee severely scarred me. receiving a team suspension. I have never received disciplinary action or suspension from school. I have no idea how to handle that. Rahul remarked, “I misbehaved in school, but it didn’t get me kicked out or cause my parents to come.”

Rahul is now getting ready for the Duleep Trophy 2024 and is trying to make a return to the Indian team before their Test series against Bangladesh. In addition, the team will compete in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 against Australia and New Zealand.
