Six teams—North Zone, East Zone, West Zone, South Zone, Central Zone, and North-East Zone—will compete in the reintroduced interzonal Duleep Trophy.
According to Cricbuzz, the tournament’s 2025–2026 edition will take place in Bengaluru in September of this year.
Although the tournament was star-studded and featured many internationals in a domestic event after a long time, Cricbuzz had previously reported that certain state organisations were unhappy with the format of four teams, India A, B, C, and D, made up of national selectors’ picks.
Shortlisted venues for the Women’s ODI World Cup
According to Cricbuzz, the 2025 Women’s World Cup will take place in five different locations throughout the nation: Indore, Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and Mullanpur. It is scheduled to start in the final week of September. The final week of September to the first week of November is when the eight-team competition is scheduled to take place.
A choice regarding the addition of an additional tournament location may be made if Pakistan, who will host the World Cup qualifiers next month, makes it to the competition. This might follow the agreement reached between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India prior to this year’s Champions Trophy, which calls for all of their ICC matches, including the knockout stages, to be held in neutral locations during the 2024–2027 cycle.
In other news, Guwahati will host its first Test match when South Africa visits India later this year, in addition to hosting its first World Cup match. New Delhi will host the first Test of the series, while Guwahati will host the second Test.
