The biggest weapon for India at the 2017 World Cup will be Hardik Pandya: Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram, a renowned Pakistani bowler, has heaped high accolades on star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup 2023 final on September 17 at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. In the summit match, India defeated Sri Lanka by ten wickets to win their eighth regional championship.

In the championship game, the 28-year-old made an impression by taking three significant wickets. When given the chance to bowl first, India bowled out the defending champions for just 50 runs, sending back Dunith Wellalage, Pramod Madushan, and Matheesha Pathirana. Earlier, Sri Lanka’s top and middle order were destroyed by great pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

The ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be held in India from October 5 to November 19, will feature teams from throughout the world. According to Akram, Hardik will be the “main weapon” for team India. He further stated that Rohit Sharma and company would be the front-runners for the championship.

India is one of the favorite teams to win the World Cup, and Hardik Pandya is their major weapon. First of all, we have seen what they can do with the ball because they are playing at home, Wasim Akram said to Star Sports.

In the Asia Cup, Kuldeep Yadav also claimed wickets against powerful opposition: Wasim Akram

Star spinner Kuldeep Yadav received more appreciation from Wasim Akram for his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup. The 57-year-old also said that team India determined they have a good roster given their successful Asia Cup performance.

“In the Asia Cup, Kuldeep also picked five wickets against the top teams. Therefore, it is a full side. So, kudos to the Indian think tank for helping these young men and ensuring they had the right team before the World Cup, the speaker continued.
