To reward outstanding achievement in domestic cricket, The BCCI has introduced prize money

Prize money for men and women's top performers has been introduced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

To reward outstanding achievement in domestic cricket, the BCCI has introduced prize money

Prize money will now be awarded to exceptional players at all levels of the game, for both men and women, according to the announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

As per BCCI Secretary Jay Shah’s confirmation, this program will play a significant role in identifying and inspiring talent at the local level.

The board hopes that by offering financial incentives, players would be more motivated to compete well in home competitions, which have historically been the training ground for future members of the national team. Shah went into more detail about the new rewards program’s scope.

In all Women’s and Junior Cricket competitions run under our Domestic Cricket Program, we will be offering cash prizes for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. Furthermore, prize money for the Senior Men’s Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament Player of the Match would be given out, Shah stated on X.

The initiative seeks to celebrate and incentivise exceptional achievements: Jay Shah

The domestic cricket season is just before the announcement. The Duleep Trophy takes place in September, while the Irani Cup is held in October to round out the calendar.

October 11 is the start date of the esteemed Ranji Trophy. In November and December, respectively, are the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
