To advance to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Qualifier, Thailand and Nepal placed first and second, respectively, in the Super Three competition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Asia Qualifier.
Nine teams fought for the top two slots in the Bangkok event, which would advance them to the last round of qualifying for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in England and Wales.
The tournament’s final three were Nepal, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Thailand defeated the UAE by 54 runs on Sunday, while Nepal defeated the UAE by five wickets today to finish in the top two and secure their spot in the qualifier.
When Thailand decided to bat against the United Arab Emirates, Nattaya Boochatham and Natthakan Chatham both scored 49 and 46 runs to help their team reach 144 for five.
Thailand’s frugal bowling, spearheaded by left-arm spinner Thipatcha Putthawong, who took two for 27, held the UAE to 90 for five in response.
Manisha Upadhayay, a left-arm seam spinner, took four wickets for 20 to limit the UAE to 114 for seven against Nepal, demonstrating the UAE’s continued batting difficulties.
Indu Barma, the captain of Nepal, led her team to triumph after they fell to 38 for three in the ninth over due to early difficulties. With three deliveries remaining, her team reached their aim thanks to her 28-ball 30.
