IND VS NZ 2nd Test: Top 10 Memes from IND vs NZ, 2nd Test

What many teams had not been able to accomplish since 2012, NZ has done. They have won a Test series in India for the first time in twelve years. On October 26, they defeated Pune by a resounding 113 runs, winning their first Test series and only their fourth Test in India. India bowled out the visitors for 255 runs on the third day of the Test, while the Kiwis set a target of 359 runs.

Although Rohit Sharma (8) fell while defending a Mitchell Santner delivery, the Indian openers had a strong start. The innings was being built by Shubman Gill (age 23) and Yashasvi Jaiswal, but Santner again selected the former. In addition to dismissing the well-established Jaiswal (77), the seasoned spinner contributed to Rishabh Pant’s (0) run-out. Santner dismissed Virat Kohli (17) LBW as India was struggling at 147/5 as he attempted to close the distance with the spin struggle.

Even though it appeared that the spinner would never be satisfied, he came out to clean up Sarfaraz Khan (9) while Washington Sundar (21) fell prey to Glenn Phillips. Ravichandran Ashwin became Santner’s sixth wicket, ending the 39-run partnership between him and Ravindra Jadeja for the eighth wicket. After Akash Deep (1) did the same, Jasprit Bumrah (10) eventually scored a few boundaries before Jadeja (42) left with the big shot in mind.

Mitchell Santner was in his greatest form for New Zealand, taking seven and six wickets in each innings, respectively, and amassing 13 in the Test. Glenn Phillips took one wicket and Ajaz Patel took two, helping him.
