For the upcoming two Test matches against India, Aaron Finch advises England to "just swallow your pride and get the game on your terms".

With a 2-1 deficit in the five-match Test series against India, England’s cricket team is in a difficult situation. England’s aggressive strategy backfired disastrously in Rajkot, despite their energetic performances in the first two Tests. Michael Clarke and Aaron Finch, two former Australian cricket players, have provided insightful analysis of England’s dismal showing.

Cricket fans and former players have examined England’s strategy following their crushing defeat in the third Test match. Especially when Joe Root was dismissed, there was a lot of discussion about England’s awareness of the game and the need to temper their attacking approach.

“Game awareness is necessary,” said Aaron Finch.

England needs to be aware of the game, according to Aaron Finch, who recently announced his retirement from the game last year. He said that rather than always playing aggressively, the squad should occasionally put more emphasis on managing the game’s tempo.

“Game awareness, in my opinion, is necessary. They’re scoring quickly, and that’s only because of their intent, which is why they’re getting so far ahead of the game. Take a deep breath and play the game the way you want sometimes, even if it’s just for a short while. They’re just not making the most of the fantastic platform their openers are providing them, Finch told ESPNcricinfo.

On the other hand, Michael Clarke defended England’s aggressive style, saying they should stick to their strategy regardless of what other people think.

“I believe it’s one of those situations where you either live by the sword or die by it. If you want to play Bazball or whatever you name it, this is the time for England to unite and support one another without giving a damn about what other people think. Clarke told the same outlet, “Back yourselves if you think that’s the best chance of beating India.

In an attempt to salvage the series, England is getting ready for the crucial fourth Test in Ranchi. The visitors’ goal is to stay true to their offensive strategy and correct the mistakes they committed in Rajkot.
