Taskin is keen to learn white-ball techniques from Tait.

Taskin Ahmed, the pace leader for Bangladesh, lauded Shaun Tait, the recently hired fast bowling coach, and said the Australian’s exposure to contemporary T20 cricket will greatly benefit the team. Taskin is interested in this topic because the World Cup in the shortest format is the next ICC event on the schedule.

Tait was recently appointed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, which had decided not to continue with Andre Adams, his predecessor. Taskin, who is undergoing rehabilitation after suffering an Achilles injury, is looking forward to a successful time under Tait. The Australian has more than 200 T20 cricket wickets and a wide range of experience playing in different environments throughout the world.

“Hopefully, many good things are ahead,” Taskin said Thursday while speaking to reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

He played a lot for Australia and was a very good fast bowler. “The best part is that he played T20 cricket in the modern era and has experience in major T20 events. We have a lot of T20 cricket this year,” he remarked.

“He must have some insightful knowledge of the game. We’ll hopefully benefit from his experience,” he remarked.

“Actually, when you’re in the national set-up, a coach can help with game awareness and some technical aspects, but bowlers mostly have to coach themselves,” he stated.

“However, when you have a big personality like Tait around, things become easier and hopefully his inclusion will benefit us,” he said.

Recently, Taskin flew to England to have his rehabilitation process certified and his physical fitness evaluated. The 30-year-old anticipates playing competitive cricket again during the next Sri Lankan tour.

As of right now, it’s merely a component of the rehabilitation process. Together with a UK professional, our cricket board’s trainer and physiotherapist have developed a rehabilitation plan,” Taskin stated.

“Five sessions have been finished thus far. I’ve begun mild bowling as well. Setting a precise date for my return is challenging. We currently want to play the Sri Lanka series in June, if all goes according to plan,” he stated.

“So far there is no complaint and if things continue like this, I’m hopeful of making a comeback in that series,” he stated.
