After playing his final Test match in June 2023, Taskin Ahmed was not included in the playing XI because he was struggling to bowl longer spells. However, he was still available for selection in the red-ball format. He has made frequent appearances in white-ball cricket, but he has been sidelined by a shoulder injury during Test matches.
Before Bangladesh’s away series against Pakistan, all eyes were on Taskin’s fitness as they recently returned to the training field. Following the first day’s session, BCB physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan gave Taskin advice to concentrate on his workouts and adhere to the rehabilitation program, confirming that he could handle the injury. The bowler is feeling better, he continued, and he will be available to play against Pakistan.
Taskin has recently participated in T20 matches. Thus, he did not bowl for extended periods of time during this time.
He even underwent a follow-up examination for his shoulder problem during the T20 World Cup. The injury he sustained back then is precisely the same now since it hasn’t gotten worse,” Bayjedul was cited by The Daily Star as saying.
“By controlling these [types of injuries], a player can participate.” Taskin can live if he keeps up the exercises and his recuperation. That means Taskin is undoubtedly available. However, a player must catch up to that pace when it comes to the bowling workload in Tests, where longer stints are required. He’ll attempt to do that, and if it helps him feel better, he can play in the Tests,” he continued.

August 17 is Bangladesh’s flight date to Pakistan, where the two-match Test series kicks off on August 21. The series’ opening game will take place in Rawalpindi, while Karachi will host the second game. Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh has, however, stated that he will be available for the series against Pakistan.
