Tamim Iqbal, the former captain of Bangladesh, suffered a severe heart attack during Monday’s Dhaka Premier League (DPL) game in Savar and was admitted to the hospital.
While leading Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League at BKSP, the 36-year-old batsman experienced an unexpected pain in his chest. After receiving medical care on the pitch, he was taken to the hospital for additional assessment.
BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury verified, “He complained of having chest pain and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was checked and underwent an ECG.”
“There was an issue with the initial blood test. He claimed that he wished to return to Dhaka because he was uncomfortable. After an ambulance was dispatched, he experienced chest pain once more on his way back to the field from the hospital. After that, he was taken to the hospital for the second time, and it appeared that he had suffered a severe heart attack. He is currently being watched at Fazilatunnesa Hospital.
The board meeting has been delayed for Monday because several board directors are in a hurry to get to Savar.
In a statement later that afternoon, the BCB verified that Tamim had successfully had an angiography to clear a blockage in one of his heart’s arteries.
BCB President Faruque Ahmed stated, “We are very thankful to all the medics and specialists for their swift actions in this critical situation.” “The nation’s affection and appreciation for Tamim is demonstrated by the outpouring of concern for him.
