T20 World Cup records and data at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium ahead to Match 38 between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands
While the Netherlands’ prospects for the T20 World Cup 2024 hang in the balance, Sri Lanka has been eliminated. Additionally, the final group stage match between these two teams will include a meeting. Notably, the outcome of Bangladesh vs. Nepal will be closely watched by the European side as it holds great significance for their prospects.

In the event that Bangladesh defeats Nepal, they advance to the Super Eight stage. This will hold true even in the case of a washout. The Netherlands will have to defeat Sri Lanka by a significant enough margin to surpass Bangladesh’s NRR and advance to the Super 8s in their place, though, should the Bangla Tigers lose to the Everest country. If Bangladesh’s NRR is higher than the Dutch side’s, they will be eliminated even with the final set of results.

Neither team has played a game in a long time. The match between Nepal and Sri Lanka was called off without a throw. Bangladesh ultimately defeated the Netherlands in the meantime. Tanzid Hasan lingered as backup for Shakib al Hasan, who got off to a poor start, but Aryan Dutt’s double strike in the powerplay placed Bangladesh in some early difficulties. Jaker Ali and Shakib’s explosive hits in the final overs were the cornerstone of the innings, but Mahmudullah lingered to provide support.

The Netherlands appeared to be getting off to a solid start in the powerplay, but except from Sybrand Engelbrecht, none of their batsmen stayed in the game long enough to allow the total to be reached. Rishad Hossain and Tanzim Hasan regularly contributed wickets, but Mustafizur Rahman’s miserliness in the last overs spearheaded Bangladesh’s bowling attack.

Pitch report for Daren Sammy Stadium:

A batting-friendly pitch is to be predicted for the forthcoming T20 World Cup match, since Australia just accomplished the second-highest successful chase of this tournament at this location. This surface will be a respite after the atrocities of New York that both teams’ batting has had to undergo.

T20I Records & Stats at Daren Sammy Stadium:

Australia’s devastating loss to Scotland has left the equation for batting first versus batting second at 9-10 from a total of 19 matches. First innings average 161 on average.

Matchups and Strategy for Sri Lanka vs. Netherlands:

Both sides must start with the firepower that has been sorely lacking in this matchup because the surface is probably batting-friendly. When it comes to using the ball, Netherlands can take advantage of Sri Lanka’s lack of familiarity with power hitting, particularly because their own batting has occasionally fallen short.

Wanindu Hasaranga vs. Sybrand Engelbrecht, Paul van Meekren vs. Kusal Mendis, and Tim Pringle vs. Pathum Nissanka are the three key matchups.

The Netherlands vs Sri Lanka X-factors:

Netherlands:

While Logan van Beek scored a lot of runs against Bangladesh, he has been the Netherlands’ most effective bowler thus far in the competition. Therefore, if the Men in Orange are to have any hope of remaining competitive in the present T20 World Cup, the pacer will need to work really hard.

Sri Lanka:

In this tournament, bowling has been Sri Lanka’s strongest strength, and Nuwan Thushara has led the way thus far. He will be crucial if the Lankan Lions are to retain any remaining pride in the T20 World Cup 2024 competition.
