T20 World Cup 2024: SA vs BAN, Match 21 Highlights
On June 10, at the Nassau County Stadium in New York, South Africa (SA) and Bangladesh (BAN) squared off in Match 21 of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Having won the toss, South Africa decided to bat first. While the top four batters combined for just four runs, Quinton de Kock scored eighteen runs off of just eleven balls. With a vital partnership of 79 runs for the fifth wicket, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller stabilised the sinking ship. The Proteas only managed 113 runs on the board, with the du scoring 46 and 29, respectively.

At the conclusion of the powerplay, Bangladesh was 29 for 2, chasing. Towhid Hridoy’s 37 runs in 34 balls rescued the day for Shakib Al Hasan, who continued to play badly at the bat. Kagiso Rabada bowled the 18th over and targeted the well-positioned Hridoy, allowing just two runs to be allowed with 20 needed off 18 balls. With 18 needed off 12 balls, Mahmudullah and Jaker Ali faced a difficult assignment. Bangladesh lost by four runs when Keshav Maharaj, bowling the last over, chose Jaker and Mahmudullah.

These are some of the game’s highlights between Bangladesh and South Africa:

1. Keshav Maharaj takes two significant wickets in the last over.

With 11 runs remaining in the Bangladeshi chase, spinner Keshav Maharaj was unexpectedly called upon to bowl the last over. After selecting Jaker Ali on the third ball, Maharaj hit Mahmudullah on the fifth, thereby ending the Proteas’ chances of winning. Remember that Mahmudullah was batting at 20 off 26 when Maharaj hit the ball.

2. Tanzim Sakib totals 18 runs with three wickets.

When Bangladesh faced South Africa, Tanzim Sakib was their most impressive bowler. In his opening over, the pacer chose Reeza Hendricks. After taking out the dangerous-looking Quinton de Kock in his second over, Tristan Stubbs was his last victim of the day, putting the Proteas on the defensive.

FEEL FOR BANGLADESH…!!!!

– Bangladesh needed 26 runs from 23 balls then Hridoy was given out on a harsh call when it was missing stumps on review but they didn’t get the deserving 4 runs due to the rule. 🚀
