Suryakumar Yadav shares India's success philosophy, "No one is bigger than the team," following Bangladesh's sweeping victory

Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India’s Twenty20 cricket team, highlighted the need of selflessness in his teammates. This came after on Saturday, October 12, India won the third and final Twenty20 International match in Hyderabad, completing a 3-0 rout of Bangladesh.

At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, India won the toss and chose to bat first, amassing the highest total by a Test-playing nation in Twenty20 Internationals (297/6), thanks to a defiant century from Sanju Samson. Samson demonstrated a selfless attitude. After striking five straight sixes off Rishad Hossain in the tenth over, Suryakumar acknowledged as much as he went from 62 off 30 balls to 92 off 35 balls. By hitting Mahedi Hasan for a boundary off the 40th ball he faced, the Kerala player also reached his first T20I century.

We’ve accomplished a lot together, in my opinion. Most essential, I want selfless cricketers on my team, as I stated at the beginning of the series. As Hardik Pandya stated, we want to be a selfless team and just enjoy each other’s company both on and off the pitch. We want to spend as much time together as we can, and that camaraderie is showing on the pitch as we’re having a good time’, Suryakumar said to the host broadcaster at the post-series presentation.

Sincere happiness for Sanju Samson: Suryakumar Yadav

Prior to the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July, Suryakumar disclosed that head coach Gautam Gambhir had advised the players that the team is more important than any individual. The Mumbai batsman claimed that since this club isn’t scared to get out in search of quick runs, individual accomplishments don’t really matter.

That is the general conversation among the team members. “No one is bigger than the team” was the identical statement made by Gauti bhai both at the beginning of the series and during our trip to Sri Lanka. Sanju did the same thing. If you’re at 99 or 49 or anything else, if you feel like you have to hit the ball out of the park for the team, you have to hit it. genuinely delighted for him.”

In addition to Samson’s century, Suryakumar struck a brilliant 75 off just 35 balls. Bangladesh was left in disbelief after his and Samson’s 172-run partnership off just 70 balls. Later on, big-hitting talents were also displayed by Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls).

Towhid Hridoy, who was unbeaten at 63 off 42 balls, helped Bangladesh sputtered to 164/7 in response. With statistics of 3/30 in four overs, Ravi Bishnoi was the ball player of the match. Taking the new ball for the first time in the series, Mayank Yadav claimed two wickets. India triumphed by 133 runs thanks to contributions from Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who each claimed one wicket.
