T20 World Cup 2024: Suryakumar Yadav faces a serious injury scare before facing Afghanistan in the Super Eight
Suryakumar Yadav’s injury during an optional net practice in Barbados on June 17 gave the Indian squad a slight fright only days before their Super 8s campaign against Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval gets underway.

But after getting treatment from the physiotherapist, Suryakumar dismissed the blow and went back to batting. The Mumbai batsman was able to finish his batting practice after an efficient medical spray application, also referred to as the “magic spray.”

India chose to participate fully in the scheduled optional training session, despite the fact that their final group-stage match ended without a ball being bowled. They came together in force and laboured diligently in the sweltering Bridgetown sun. Alongside the brilliant performer against the USA, whom India defeated in a closely contested match, head coach Rahul Dravid was seen assessing the damage and conversing briefly with Suryakumar prior to the latter returning to the batting duties after obtaining the necessary care.

According to sources, Virat Kohli engaged in a rigorous batting drill that lasted for over forty minutes during the extended session. With every delivery, he confronted it with unwavering determination. While Dravid was seen helping Kohli with multiple throwdowns, Kohli was seen conversing nonstop with batting instructor Vikram Rathour after short breaks in his batting practice.

Kohli will be desperate to go back to his best and solidify his place as the tournament’s top run scorer since making his debut in the 2012 edition. His T20 World Cup 2024 campaign has been remarkably dull thus far (scoring just five runs in three innings).
