Suryakumar Yadav bats and captains in very similar ways: Prasidh Krishna

With three games remaining, Suryakumar Yadav, the dynamic batsman, has led his team to a 2-0 lead. Yadav was named captain for the upcoming Twenty20 International series between Australia and India.

For some of his field placements and bowling adjustments throughout the first two games in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram, Suryakumar has drawn plaudits from cricket pundits. Indian bowler Prasidh Krishna recovered well from a poor start in the first game of the series.

Following the game, the Karnataka player complimented Suryakumar Yadav on his captaincy and mentioned that his batting and leadership styles are very comparable.

“It appears, in my opinion, that Suryakumar Yadav batting style and captaincy are extremely similar. India Today cited Krishna as stating, “He has faith in his players, supports everyone of us in doing what we want to do, and is always there to help if something goes wrong.

“That’s been the name of the game and then that’s the word around freedom: go and execute your plans out there and everyone trusts each other in the team.”

Being a member of the World Cup team taught me a lot: Prasidh Krishna

After the great all-rounder hurt himself during India’s fourth match against Bangladesh, the 27-year-old took Hardik Pandya’s place in the ODI World Cup 2023 team. Krishna talked on how being a member of the group helped him even if he didn’t play in the highlight match when the ‘Men in Blue’ lost to Australia in the finals.

“I learned so much from being a member of the World Cup team. Since joining the team, I’ve experienced the largest learning curve. I learned a lot about how people prepare you for what you can take in terms of surface, situation, condition, batsman, and all of those things,” Krishna said following his three-wicket haul in the second Twenty20 International between Australia and India at the Greenfield Stadium.

India was sent in to bat first and, thanks to fifty-score stands from Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Yashasvi Jaiswal as well as a brilliant cameo from Rinku Singh, amassed 235/4 in their 20 overs. Australia’s response saw them lose wickets at frequent intervals and eventually lose by 44 runs, giving India a dominating 2-0 lead in the five-match series. However, some spectacular performances from Tim David, Marcus Stoinis, and Matthew Wade postponed the inevitable.
