Suryakumar, Hardik celebrated on return to India after Asia Cup 2025 victory

Following their triumphant performance for the Men in Blue in the United Arab Emirates, Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya were greeted like heroes at the Mumbai airport. On Sunday, September 28, India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final to win their ninth Asia Cup.

Hardik’s efforts and Suryakumar’s leadership were crucial to India’s triumph in the continental competition.

Unfortunately, Hardik’s injury to his left quadriceps prevented him from participating in the top match. In the meantime, Kuldeep Yadav finished as the tournament’s top wicket-taker and Abhishek Sharma as its top run-getter.

Regarding the 2025 Asia Cup, India finished the competition undefeated since their skill and experience proved to be far superior than those of their opponents. In the Super Four phase’s last match, only Sri Lanka was able to mount an effort. But India maintained their composure in the Super Over to secure the victory.

India and the West Indies will now play a two-match Test series, with the first Test to be held in Ahmedabad and the second Test to be held in Delhi. Their next big task will be to play Australia. There will be three ODIs and five T20Is on the white-ball tour to Australia. Additionally, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return in their national colours for the ODI leg.
