In preparation for their upcoming four T20 Blast games, Surrey has signed Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa.
The seasoned athlete will arrive before to Sunday, July 6’s doubleheader between Surrey’s men’s and women’s teams and Essex at the Kia Oval.
With 117 wickets to his credit, Zampa leads Australia in taking wickets in the game’s shortest format. Additionally, he was the first bowler from Australia to take 100 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals. With the Men in Yellow, Zampa won the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup.
The cunning spinner has participated in a number of T20 leagues across the globe, including Major League Cricket, the Caribbean Premier League, the Indian Premier League, and the Big Bash League. In 298 Twenty20 matches, the 33-year-old has claimed 363 wickets with a strike rate of 17.50 and an average of 21.72. He also has a respectable economy rate of 7.43.
Zampa voiced his delight upon joining Surrey, saying he can’t wait to see what it means to play for the Brown Caps.

For Surrey, Adam Zampa will also play against Gloucestershire in Bristol, Glamorgan at home on July 11, and Somerset a few days later. Adam Zampa will be available for the September quarterfinals and Finals Day if Surrey advances to the T20 Blast knockout stages.
Australia and Australia are presently engaged in a three-match Test series. The five-match T20I series that will follow this series begins on July 21 at Kingston, Jamaica’s Sabina Park.
