The Dallas Metropolitan Area is home to the Super Kings franchise, which owns the Texas franchise of Major League Cricket (MLC), the leading franchise cricket league in America. The team has stated that it would open an academy to promote cricket at the grassroots level in the community.
Following the success of its successful offshoots in London and Tamil Nadu, the location—which will be in Lewisville (a suburb of Dallas)—will formally serve as the Super Kings’ ninth cutting-edge training facility.
Director of Cricket at the Super Kings Academy, Louis Mariano, also spoke, expressing his excitement at the opening of a new academy. In his opinion, the Super Kings’ ownership of the Texas franchise would greatly benefit the team’s future aspirations by establishing an academy in Dallas.
We see a lot of promise for the sport’s expansion, our capacity to help grassroots cricket become more popular, and our capacity to develop current talent. That’s why we’re so thrilled to be introducing Super Kings Academy to the USA. Cricbuzz quoted Louis Mariano as saying, “We’re even more excited to launch our first academy in Dallas, as it creates strong synergies with our long-term plans in the market.” Dallas is home to the Texas Super Kings.
It is noteworthy that there are eight cricket academies in the Dallas metro region and that each year more than 600 children register in these programs. Six full-length cricket lanes with video analysis capabilities will be part of the academy’s initial indoor space.
For regular match practice, the kids will also have access to outdoor fields. The Super Kings’ commitment to fostering cricket at the grassroots level may have a significant impact on the game’s local development.
