In a similar spirit, former Indian great Sunil Gavaskar suggested that, as many players have limited experience in domestic cricket, young people should try to spend more time playing first-class cricket.
It is imperative that both bowlers and hitters play some first-class cricket to prepare themselves mentally and physically for the longer format of the game before a Test match series, as seen by the batters’ inability to score large runs.
