Twitter Reactions: Sufiyan Muqeem spins Pakistan to a record-breaking 10-wicket defeat of Zimbabwe

In the second T20I of the series, Pakistan dominated Zimbabwe, winning by a margin of 10 wickets. The visitors quickly won after Zimbabwe’s bat-on horror show, in which they chose to bat first. Sufiyan Muqeem got off to a spectacular start with a double-wicket over in the ninth over of the match, leaving Zimbabwe in serious difficulty.

To be honest, the hosts had gotten off to a really good start. Before the first wicket fell, Zimbabwe had reached a total of 37 thanks to the efforts of Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani. Another new batter entered the game with the first delivery of the sixth over. Shortly after the powerplay ended, Abbas Afridi, who had begun with a maiden, caught the big fish, Sikandar Raza.

During the very next over, Sufiyan Muqeem dismissed a pair of hitters, putting Zimbabwe eight down.

In a fantastic display, the 25-year-old Muqeem scored his fifth and the opposition’s tenth, bringing Zimbabwe’s innings to a close. In a span of 20 runs, the Green Shirts swept through the hosts’ batting order, thoroughly overwhelming Zimbabwe. In the end, Muqueem had the greatest T20I stats of any Pakistani (2.4-0-3-5).

From the very first over of the run-chase, Pakistan made their intentions clear. Raza was taken for eleven. Additionally, 13 was sprayed for each of the third and fourth overs. Saim Ayub recorded a resounding victory by finishing the match with a couple of boundaries off Blessing Muzarabani. The biggest difference in T20Is between full members was 87 runs. In addition to being Zimbabwe’s lowest total in Twenty20 Internationals, it was also the two teams’ lowest match total (118) in their 20 meetings.

Here’s how the fans reacted to the second ZIM vs PAK T20I game:
