Sudharsan Lauds Jaiswal’s Century in Delhi Test

India’s third-ranked batsman, Sai Sudharsan, recently highlighted the wealth of knowledge he has attempted to absorb while playing with ace opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal. Day 1 of the second Test match between India and the West Indies in New Delhi included a 193-run partnership for the second wicket between Jaiswal and Sudharsan.

The Tamil Nadu cricket player talked about how, in contrast to his time at the crease during the first Test in Ahmedabad, he felt more liberated while playing this time. He will want to capitalise and get more runs in the future, the left-handed hitter said, having just missed his first hundred in Test cricket.

“My input and Jaiswal’s collaboration were both excellent. Hopefully, we’ll earn a high score and have longer partnerships. I was definitely more free, expressed myself, and took my time instead of hurrying things because I wasn’t worrying about getting runs. I didn’t attempt to force events.

Despite being satisfied with the runs, Sudharsan said on television at the end of the day’s play, “I’m grateful for everything I’ve done, but I always want to make a lot more.”

Sudharsan also mentioned how playing alongside Jaiswal and batting has improved his mental awareness of which shot to play when. Finally, he evaluated how the pitch was doing and how it may react throughout the competition.

“Watching him bat from the other end is exciting because he turns excellent balls into boundary balls, which is fantastic to see. As I bat with Jaiswal, he’s teaching me how to make decent shots into boundary shots and what shots to play. It’s dropping (on the wicket) and could begin to turn real tomorrow. The wicket has become softer and slower; perhaps it will begin to turn from the rough,” he continued.

After 90 overs, India finished Day 1 at 318/2, with Jaiswal and Shubman Gill undefeated with 173 off 253 and 20 off 68, respectively. Jomel Warrican took both wickets, and his current 20-over total stands at 2/60.
