Speaking about the USA's historic series victory over Bangladesh, Stuart Law said, "We wanted it a bit more than what they did."

Stuart Law praised Bangladesh’s resilience and remained upbeat about their chances of winning the 2019 T20 World Cup, even after the team’s final defeat.

The men’s cricket team from the USA accomplished a noteworthy accomplishment by defeating Bangladesh, a full member nation, 2-1 in their inaugural bilateral Twenty20 International series.

The hosts displayed their zeal and determination in an outstanding series in Texas, defeating their more seasoned opponents by ten wickets in the third and final Twenty20 International. Stuart Law, the head coach of the USA, attributed the team’s drive and perseverance for winning the series.

Prior to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 being held at home, Law, the former head coach of Bangladesh, credited his team’s success in winning the series to their fervor and hunger.

“In the first two games, we were more motivated and passionate about the game. Our desire was slightly greater than theirs. It was a different story today. We might have become a little less rigid. Bangladesh performed fairly well. They’ll handle this with grace. This preparation is excellent. Hitting balls into nets is so much less enjoyable than playing games. With one-off games, anything may happen. That is the nature of the World Cup.

No one enters as the clear favorite,” Stuart Law stated, per an ESPNcricinfo statement.

“You guys in the media put a lot of pressure on Bangladesh, even though they are a good team.” I do know one thing, though. They boast some of the top cricket ball strikers. Today, the two batters produced runs through exquisite cricket strokes. A few bowlers have a fair amount of pace. Bangladesh’s spinners are and will always be formidable. They have a strong team,” he continued.

Wouldn’t consider it shocking if we defeated India or Pakistan: Aaron J. Jones

It cost the USA team dearly to rest its main players for the third Twenty20 International, including fast bowler Ali Khan, all-rounder Harmeet Singh, skipper Monank Patel, and opener Steven Taylor.

Using this opportunity, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team restricted the hosts to 104 for nine runs thanks to a six-wicket haul from Mustafizur Rahman. After that, Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar shared an uninterrupted 108 runs to lead their team to a convincing ten-wicket win.

In the previous game, the USA side got off to a great start, scoring 46 runs in the first five overs without losing a wicket. Nevertheless, after the openers were out, their innings stalled. As a result, their total was limited to below average, as interim captain Aaron Jones stated.

“In the middle overs, we misread the situation. For us today, shot selection was very important. There were occasions when we could have used the sweep shot. We simply rolled over as soon as the Bangladeshi bowlers got the better of us, Jones continued.
