Former Australia captain and legend Steve Waugh took out his valuable time to meet his ‘loyal friend’ and the former India head coach and legend, Rahul Dravid, in Bengaluru recently. Waugh was all praises for the ‘The Wall’ for being fiercely competitive while on the field in the most pressure situations against Australia. Moreover, he called him a genuine long-time and loyal friend away from the game.
In a similar spirit, the renowned Australian spoke on social media about his treasured reunion with his pal after a protracted absence. Notably, Waugh visited the innovation hub of India to participate in an exhibition pertaining to space initiatives. It is noteworthy that Australia and India have been collaborating on space technology projects for a considerable amount of time.

When it comes to their most treasured matchups, who could overlook the 2001 Border Gavaskar Trophy Test played in Kolkata? Steve Waugh’s Australia were almost unbeatable at that point in all formats. But the Indian squad pulled off an incredible comeback to win the Test series 2-1.
Waugh produced an explosive century in the opening innings to lead his team from the front with the bat. Australia scored an incredible 445 runs as a consequence. However, the hosts’ first innings ended in a follow-on after a very terrifying start.
At that point, the Australians were enjoying themselves well, but then the Indian legend Rahul Dravid struck a remarkable 180 runs and held a legendary stand with VVS Laxman (281), who came close to scoring a triple double. This thus enabled team India to not only overturn the deficit but also set a respectable target for Australia to pursue in the second innings.
