When Steve Smith got his brace off, he admitted that it hadn't made much of a difference. "I was in a brace for a couple of weeks, just trying to limit the movement," he said.

Steve Smith, a prominent Australian hitter, is close to recovering from a wrist tendon injury he suffered during the Ashes 2023. It is noteworthy that Smith sustained the injury and missed the Lord’s Test of the Ashes. He then tried wearing a splint, but it did not work so well.

Steve Smith made the decision to use cortisone injections as a solution to his injury problems as a consequence. The injections had a significant impact since Smith could resume net practise. In an effort to complete his preparations for the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023, the veteran will eventually board a plane to India to play against the hosts.

“I was in a brace for a couple of weeks, just trying to minimise the mobility, which, to be honest, once I took it off, hadn’t really made much of a difference. Then, last Thursday, I had a cortisone shot, and that has really helped. I’ve already batted again for a few sessions, and it feels relatively normal,” Smith told Nine Newspapers.

Steve Smith added that after using the cortisone injections, he has been able to bat without experiencing any pain, and the shots have done wonders for him. He thought back to the net sessions when inside edging a few balls would cause the bat to turn quickly in the wrists, but it used to hurt. But receiving those injections has undoubtedly given him more motivation than ever to play his natural game.

“I inside-edged a couple of balls in the nets the other day and my bat turned sharp, and I was like, ‘oh, that was hurting before’ and it wasn’t hurting anymore, So that’s a real positive, and I feel as though I can play all my shots and there’s no pain at all,” Steve Smith said.

The news that Steve Smith will be playing again may be very encouraging for Australia. Smith may slot in at No. 3 in light of the growing injury worries surrounding Travis Head. Smith stated the same thing while discussing how much better it is for him to bat higher in ODI cricket.

“I guess my average is around 55 at three, so that’s probably my ideal time. But I’ll play any white-ball cricket that the squad need. We’ll see what they want to do since you would love to bat as high as you can.
