Steve Harmison says Virat Kohli would’ve easily chased the target at Lord's

According to Steve Harmison, India has taken more wickets with the new ball, scored more hundreds, and amassed more top-order runs. But England has emerged victorious, and with two games remaining in the five-match series, the Ben Stokes-led team leads 2-1.

At the Lord’s Cricket Ground, India had a fantastic opportunity to take a 2-1 lead in the third Test after having to chase down a 193-run mark in the fourth innings. However, India was swept out for 170 as the batting faltered.

According to Steve Harmison, a former bowler for England, the great Virat Kohli would have assisted India in easily chasing down the score in the fourth innings.

Although India has amassed more hundreds, top-order runs, and new ball wickets, England always manages to win. figuring out how to alter the game’s trajectory by generating an event during a session. India needs to start believing, in my opinion. The likes of Virat Kohli were outstanding in this situation. He goes and easily wins the game in a chase in the fourth inning. Steve Harmison stated in ESPNcricinfo Match Day that “he would have won that game at Lord’s with ease.”

The two players with the most runs in the five-match series thus far are Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. However, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are two of the top wicket-takers. Although the relatively inexperienced Indian team has performed admirably and controlled the majority of the series, they are currently behind 1-2.

The Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester will host the fourth Test beginning on Wednesday, July 23. For India to have a chance to win the series, they must win this match. India has a dismal overall record at the storied Old Trafford, having lost four Test matches and drawn five, with no victories. They would not, however, extrapolate too much from prior performance, particularly after defeating England in Test cricket for the first time at Edgbaston earlier in the series.
