Stephen Fleming on Dewald Brevis’s possible selection versus SRH: “He is one of the options that we will look at.”

Though he is a fantastic option to consider, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has stated that they will also be looking at other players in the mix.

This season, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team has had some regrettable injuries that have forced some replacements. Dewald Brevis, a rising star from South Africa, is one of them.

Gurjapneet Singh, a left-arm seamer who was injured, was replaced by Brevis. Although he was a member of the Mumbai Indians in 2022 and 2024, he was unable to play much throughout both seasons. There were rumours that Brevis will be included in the starting lineup for the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) because the CSK team has been having a difficult season.

He’s among the possibilities we’ll consider. Other players have also joined us for the duration of the competition. Brevis is a valuable addition to the club, but we must manage the team we believe would be the best given the players who have been training with us and consider Brevis’ potential influence.
