SRH CEO Kavya Maran named to Telangana sports governance body

One of the 14 members of the  Policy is Kavya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the area of sports development, this board is a part of the Telangana Sports Policy.

At the first Telangana Sports Conclave in Hyderabad, A. Revanth Reddy, the state’s chief minister, made the announcement. The policy has a number of goals, including expanding sports possibilities, improving infrastructure, and assisting athletes in their ascent from amateur to international competition.

Telangana athletes would benefit from the strategy if they wanted to compete internationally and possibly even in the Olympics in the future. To oversee the Telangana Sports Development Fund’s use, a Board of Governors has also been established.

The board also includes a number of great athletes, including former Indian football player Bhaichung Bhutia, World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, badminton instructor Pullela Gopichand, and Indian millionaire Sanjiv Goenka.

Kavya Maran is who?

Kavya Maran is one of the panel’s youngest members and the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, the leader of the Sun Group. During the Indian Premier League (IPL), she is frequently seen cheering for SRH from the stands. She comes from an illustrious family.

Her grandfather, Murasoli Maran, led the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party and was an Indian politician. Dayanidhi Murasoli Maran, her uncle, has been elected to the Lok Sabha four times, representing Chennai Central. He was once a Union Minister as well.

Regarding the Indian sports industry, Kavya is regarded as one of the most powerful female figures. One of the wealthiest businesspeople in India is her father, Kalanithi Maran. An estimated INR 25,000 crore is his net worth.
