“Spoke about the strategy he should use” – Sitanshu Kotak, interim head coach of India, describes speaking with Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma, a young cricketer who had an incredible experience in the West Indies, did not perform to his full ability in the T20I series against Ireland. Kotak also said that while on tours, the squad frequently discusses strategy and not much about technical matters, but that wasn’t the case this time. He continued by saying that a player typically finds it challenging to change his technical features in the course of just a few days.

“Tilak Varma only desired to practice. He discussed his strategy and shot selection, and we had a typical conversation regarding my opinions and his plans. If anything, we chat more about strategy during tours. He discussed how to increase his innings and how to approach the last game,” Kotak stated in the presser.

“Unless the gamer requests it and if there is adequate time, we don’t discuss much about technical aspects. In a series, within a week or two-to-three days, I don’t think you can technically alter a player, he continued.

Tilak Varma has been selected to represent India at the next Asia Cup, which will start on August 30. The cricketer was called up after the fantastic Windies series, despite having no prior experience in the ODI format. Many eyes will be on him as a result because India may need a middle-order batter now that KL Rahul may miss a few games of the tournament, according to chief selector Ajit Agarkar.
