WATCH: Chaos in Barabati stadium as ticket rush sparks stampede-like situation ahead of Cuttack ODI

After an unruly crowd at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack during the ticket sales for the second ODI in the three-match series between India and England, some police officers were called in.

A video that has been making the rounds shows the crowd that had gathered outside the venue crammed together with a group of police officers who had come to keep an eye on the disorderly situation. In order to make things easier for the local population, a hose was also used. Interestingly, Sunday, February 9 is the date of the game.

Regarding India’s record at the Barabati Stadium, they have won 13 of their 17 games there. The last time India played an ODI there was a long time ago. On December 22, 2019, the hosts defeated the West Indies by a score of four wickets, spearheaded by star Indian batsman Virat Kohli. In the 50-over format, they have scored 381 at the ground and 178 at the ground, respectively.
