In their match against New Zealand in the ODI tri-series on February 10, South Africa was compelled to start four rookies. And why? The SA20 2025 final, which ended on Sunday, February 8, featured several of South Africa’s ODI players because to the unfavourable schedule.
“Many of the players that participated in the SA20 final will arrive soon. For many of us, this is an opportunity to prepare and give a strong performance. We’re giddy. Before the match against New Zealand, Wiaan Mulder remarked, “It’s always exciting when there’s a new player.”

Neil Brand led the team in his Test debut as South Africa awarded debuts left and right throughout their two-match Test series against the same opponent, New Zealand, earlier last year.
The “real” Champions Trophy 2025 preparation won’t start until all of South Africa’s main players return from their SA20 spell, according to captain Temba Bavuma.
After everyone is here, we will begin our actual CT preparation. Bavuma stated during the toss, “We’ll have to make good use of what we have.”
